Holiday Helpers – Lawn Fawn

Lawn Fawn Holiday Helpers

The school holidays are coming to an end, but I can still fit in a little more stamping 😉 so I headed to the craft shop today and came home with the Lawn Fawn Holiday Helpers set, which I’ve been drooling over slightly in recent days.

After a little colouring and cutting I put this card together. Hopefully one day I’ll get the dies to match, they weren’t in stock in the store. I also tried a different cardstock to colour on, it has quite a different effect to the Stampin’ Up! Whisper White that I usually use, will see how this one goes over time.

I used a mountain die on the side for something different, I love how it echoes the shape of the boy elf’s hat.

Earlier in the day I bought a new daylight lamp, I’ve been without one all year and it really makes a difference when you’re working with colours. So, I’m well setup for a fun few months of stamping until Christmas.

Supplies:

  • Stamps: Lawn Fawn Holiday Helpers
  • Cardstock: Old Olive & Real Red – Stampin’ Up, Olive – Bazzill
  • Dies: Memory Box (stitched rectangles); Simply Dies (mountain).

Merry – Freshly Made Sketches #357

Merry card

I love this 1950s girl from the Christmas in the Making set (Stampin’ Up!). Here I used the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #357 as the basis for my design (see below), and the patterned paper and die are also by Stampin’ Up!

It was a challenge to fit in a greeting down the centre of the page. It’s good to push yourself to do something different, isn’t it?

Shiny Baubles

Baubles 1

Here are two cards I made using scraps of foil card I had – I think I’ve had the blue for years, it was part of a catalogue, from memory (don’t you love it when junk mail is useful for cardmaking? My favourite is the fridge magnets that tradesmen and real estates deliver, I love them for storing my thinlits dies, the calendar magnets are the best!)

Baubles 2

I usually make my Christmas cards in reds and greens but felt like trying something quite different. In my stash I also found some corrugated gold card which was great for the tops of the baubles.

Supplies:

Bauble dies: Stampin’ Up! (Retired)

Stitched Rectangle: Memory Box

Oval: Spellbinders

Christmas Dreams – Lawn Fawn

lawn fawn Christmas dreams 1

I bought the Christmas Dreams set last year, but didn’t get to use it much. When I was younger, I used to make dolls houses and miniature scenes. This set is just as much fun, I love colouring and arranging the little pieces to make scenes. I think that’s why I find Lawn Fawn so hard to resist!

I coloured the puppy to look like our golden Retriever, Cooper, who is quite a bit bigger than he was this time last year when I bought the set. Right now he’s curled up in front of our heater, asleep. I always think it’s a shame that we don’t have a cold but cosy Christmas season here, but at least I can get away with making wintry cards for Christmas, at least I thought so when I was making it yesterday in the cold and rain here.

Oh what fun! – Lawn Fawn

Lawn Fawn Oh What Fun 1

This week I finished my uni semester (woohoo!) and got straight into some stamping. Well, after a day or two of getting the house back into order. During the school term and uni semester things get a little out of hand. So once that was dealt with, I got into some stamping. It feels so good to play with my stamps and supplies without having any work hanging over me for a little while!

I love making scenes and was happy to pick up this snowy mountain die the other day, plus the little Oh What Fun stamp set. They worked perfectly with other Lawn Fawn sets and this card came together pretty quickly.

At this time of year I’m always torn between wanting to really get started on Christmas cards, but not getting too excited about Christmas yet … so, I’m starting slowly, enjoying the process of making some cards that take a little while to pull together.

How about you? When do you start making Christmas cards? Am I early or late?

Supplies:

  • Bear on sled & greeting: Oh What Fun – Lawn Fawn
  • Mountain die: Simply Dies
  • Village – Lawn Fawn Snow Globe
  • Tree dies: Happy Trails – Lawn Cuts
  • Cardstock: Stampin Up!
  • Stitched Hillside border: Lawn cuts
  • Markers: Copics, Aldi & Stampin’ Up!

Squirrel Engagement Card – Lawn Fawn

One of my best friends just got engaged! I was thrilled (of course) and wanted to make them a card, but didn’t have too much time, with uni assignments looming.

The solution was to make this card, with minimal colouring, but maximum cuteness. The ‘happy mail’ on the corner of the envelope was the finishing touch.

BB Happy Hedgehogs – MFT

BB Happy HedgehogsI love this little guy from the BB Happy Hedgehogs set from My Favorite Things.

BB Happy Hedgehogs 2

He’s quite comfortable perched on top of the tree stump.  I surrounded him with some flowers and foliage from Memory Box dies and placed it all on some older Stampin’ Up! paper and cardstock. One day I’ll get the dies for the Hedgehogs set, in the meantime I cut them the old-fashioned way.

Supplies

  • Hedgehog: BB Happy Hedgehogs – MFT
  • Floral/foliage dies: Memory Box
  • Cardstock & patterned paper: Stampin’ Up!
  • Circle & Scalloped circle dies: Spellbinders
